Brahminy Kite has broad wings with five long ‘fingers’ at the tips.

Eastern Osprey wings with a bend at the ‘wrist’. White-bellied Sea Eagle wings are held in a shallow V-shape with upswept tips.

Black Kite has a slightly forked tail. Whistling Kite has a long rounded tail. Both kites use their tails to steer.

Swamp Harrier can be ID-ed by the white patch of feathers on the top of its tail/rump.

Spotted Harrier has spots and streaks on its body and wings, and bars (stripes) on its tail.

Black-shouldered Kite and Nankeen Kestrel both hover over the ground by flapping their wings.
