Stories, science and curiosity brought to life
Hi I’m Kirsty Costa
I’m the creator and host of Weekend Birder, one of Australia’s favourite science and nature podcasts.
I share stories at festivals, host conversations, lead workshops and bird experiences, and regularly appear in national media talking about birds, nature and science. Whether we’re talking about birds, communication or the living world, I bring together stories, science and curiosity to create experiences people remember.
Media
Looking for someone who can make birds, nature and science interesting and accessible? I turn research and complex ideas into stories people can understand, remember and share.
I’m an experienced media guest across radio, television, print, podcasts and online media, and I’m comfortable with live interviews, talkback, pieces to camera and longer conversations.
Keynotes, MC and panel hosting
I’ve spent most of my career on stage and am comfortable in front of audiences of any size, both face-to-face and online.
I deliver keynotes about birds, the power of noticing, citizen science and our relationship with the living world. I also MC conferences and events, host panels and public conversations, and record live podcast episodes. My style is warm, thoughtful and engaging, helping guests feel comfortable and audiences feel part of the conversation.
Walks and workshops
I lead bird walks and other nature experiences, collaborating with local experts whenever specialist knowledge is needed.
I also design interactive workshops and bird experiences that get people talking, thinking, noticing and doing. Sessions can explore birds and noticing, environmental communication, storytelling or podcasting, and are tailored to the people in the room.
Let’s create something together
